Jocotenango Volacion

For one night, the church of Jocotenango is taken over by a huge alfumbra(carpet) made of dyed sawdust, surrounded by all kinds of offerings, fruit,vegetables,flowers,birds in cages. In the choir is a full size representation of the passion of Christ in front of a painted backdrop. All night, the population streams by to admire and worship.
