AOn the occasion of Day of the Dead and All Saints Day on Oct 31 and Nov 1, families gather at the cimetaries to clean or repaint the tombs of their relatives and cover them with freshflowers, rose petals and various plastic decorations and streames. The markets are full of vendors with huge bundles of all kinds of fresh flowers, ranging from sunflowers, birds of paradise and calla lilies to more modest varieties of chrisanthemums, marigolds and mums.
