Inside the old wooden monastery, a red lacquer chest holds a treasure trove of old buddhist manuscrips, written in the beautiful curvacious burmese script , either on an accordeon folded sheet of thick handmade paper, or on lacquer tablets tied in a book between lacquered wooden covers.
